Ara : Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, on January 5, 2018, finally announced election of Senate members. The Senate election will be held on February 6, 2018, after a gap of ten years.

The announcement of election of Senate members has surcharged the atmosphere on university campus and teaching, non-teaching employees and even the student unions are seen preparing for it. The aspiring candidates started filing their nominations from January 5 itself and it would continue till January 8. Scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on January 9 and candidates may withdraw their names till January 10, 2018. Counting of the votes will held on February 7, 2018.

Ahmad Hussain of H D Jain College, Ara, and Deepak Kumar of Maharaja College, Ara,  both teachers, and Jag Narayan Prasad, Demonstrator, H D Jain College, and Uday Ram, an Assistant in the office of the Coordinator, College Development Committee, VKSU, have filed their nomination papers so far.

VC, VKSU, Sayyed Mumtazuddin said that all necessary arrangements have been made for holding the Senate election. He said that the elections of the Senate members had not been held for the last 10 years and so at the last Senate meeting in 2017, it was decided to hold the election before the next Senate meeting.
