Patna : Bihar Governor cum Chancellor of State Universities on December 18, 2017, reviewed the functioning of all the traditional universities with their Vice-chancellors (VCs) and senior official of Education Department at a meeting held at Raj Bhavan. The Chancellor reviewed the implementation of the decisions taken at the meeting of the VCs held at Raj Bhavan on November 25, 2017, universitywise.
The Chancellor reviewed the installation of wi-fi in the universities and colleges under the state government’s ‘ Saat Nischay’ resolution. He was informed that although wi-fi had been installed in 290 collges so far under different varsities, the enrolmment of the users was notĀ not much as the Nodal Officers concerned of the universities and colleges had not yet assumed the ownership of the scheme besides theĀ erratic power supply. The Chancellor directed the Nodal officers to review the implementation of the scheme every week by holding meeting to increase the enrollment of users.
The Govrenor also directed all the VCs to provide separate Washrooms for girls at university and college levl by March 2018. The VCs were also asked to organise cleanliness drive at university and college level between the last week of December 2017 and first week of January 2018 and send their respective reports to the Chancellor’s Secretariat by January 5, 2018.
The Chanclellor was also informed that all the universities had initiated steps to provide for bio-metric attendance of teachers, students and non-teaching employees. The Chancellor asked the VCs to ensure Bio-metric atendance at university level by March 2018 and at collge level by June 2018.
The meeting also decided to change the curriculam of different subjects under Choice Based Credit System.
