Muzaffarpur : The anti-ragging cell of the UGC on September 13, 2017, directed L S College, Muzaffarpur, administration, to immediately lodge an FIR against students involved in ragging a Degree Pat I student the same day inflicting Head and Hand injury to him. Apart from lodging a written complaint with BRA Bihar University (BRABU), Muzaffarpur, police station, the victim had also lodged complaint with the anti-ragging cell of UGC on phone soon after the incident.

Within half-an-hour of receiving complaint from the ragging victim, a UGC official called L S College Principal Upendra Kunwar and asked him to immediately lodge an FIR against the senior students involved in him ragging. The UGC also sent an email to the college principal in this connection immediately. But, by the time University police station team reached college campus, the accused had escaped.

The victim, a native of Muzaffarpur district, had taken admission at L S College ten days back. In his police complaint, the victim alleged that he had gone to the college to collect his I-card and class schedule chart. The victim said that when he reached near Arts Block, some students standing there waved him to stop but he ignored it. But, they chased and caught him and beat him up with stick and belt. He and his friend received Head and Hand injury in the incident.

Principal Upendra Kunwar said that the anti-ragging cell of the college will inquire into the incident. HeĀ  said that the college will soon take action against the accused.
