Saharsa : Students who failed to clear the Intermediate Arts, Science and Commerce Examination 2017 conducted by Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) blocked traffic on Prashant Cinema Hall and Manohar High School roads at Saharsa for several hours on June 1, 2017, burning tyres on the road. They were raising slogans against Bihar government and Education Minister Ashok Chowdhary alleging irregularities in the evaluation of answer -books. They were demanding re-evaluation of their answer-books.

SHO, Sadar Police Station, Saharsa, Bhai Bharat, and Circle Officer,Kahra, tried to pacify the students but they moved towards collectorate and staged demonstration at its gate raising slogans against the state government. Saharsa SDO Saurabh Jorwal spoke to the students there and informed them that BSEB would soon announce re-evaluation of answer-books. After this, the students called off heir agitation. Almost 8 lakh students failed to clear Inter Exams this year. The results were announced on May 30, 2017.
