Saharsa: Police arrested three notorious criminals near Sarva Dhala on Saharsa – Sonbersa Kutchery road on February 27 night when they planning to kill village Batraha resident Ajit Yadav for his reluctance to help them get `Rangdari’ (extortion amount) from owner of Prakash Travel agency located at Chandini Chowk , Saharsa.

The arrested criminals were identified as Dhamsena under Saur Bazaar police station  resident Shambhu Yadav,  Goriyari under Salkhua police station native Rohit Kumar, and Dholi under Bangaon police station resident Abhishekh Sudan alias Monu Singh. Police seized 17 live cartridges and a countrymade pistol from their possession. They were sent to jail. They are involved in several criminal cases including Chakla petrol pump loot case under Saur Bazaar police station and loot at Keshri Vastralay in Refugee colony, Saharsa. They have also admitted their involvement in some murders, police said.

Saharsa SDPO Subodh Kumar Biswas on February 28, 2017, said that the members of the gang of Kaushal Yadav had committed several crimes at Saharsa town and other places in Saharsa district in recent weeks. He said Kaushal Yadav was arrested recently but still crimes were being committed in the district at his behest. The criminals had opened fire a few times at the residence of owner of Prakash Tarvel agency to terrorise him, the SDPO said. Ajit Yadav had allegedly acted as the middleman.

Saharsa Sadar police station SHO Bhai Bharat headed the team which arrested the three criminals. The team also comprised Suman Kumar and Nitesh Kumar, two police officials, and armed constables. SDPO Biswas said that police would also arrest other members of Kaushal Yadav gang.
