Shahabuddin gets bail in picture going viral case

Patna: Jailed former RJD MP from Siwan Mohd. Shahabuddin was on February 7 produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Siwan, in connection with a case lodged with the Mufassil police station against him. The case is related to former MP’s pic showing him in an entirely new get-up with shaven head and trimmed moustache going viral on social media. RJD MP’s counsel AK Rajan said that the court granted him bail in the case.

A large number of Shahabuddin’s supporters had gathered inside and outside the court to have a glimpse of their `MP saheb’ as they came to know that he is reaching court at around 11 am. The district administration had made elaborate arrangements inside and outside the court. Former MP remained in the CJM court for about 25 minutes and then returned to Siwan divisional jail under heavy escort.

It may be mentioned here that much halabaloo was created in political circle after the pic of former MP went viral. Police later registered an FIR with the Mufassil police station in this connection. A raid was carried out inside the divisional jail after that.
