Motihari : Eighty-five inmates  of Motihari Central Jail  in East Champaran District in North Bihar are observing Chhath Puja, the most auspicious festival of Bihar, with the active support of jail authorities.

Jailor Surynath Singh said special cleanliness drive was carried out both inside and outside jail and all prisoners including
85 devotees were cooperating with each other in performing puja  in a big way. This Chhath puja started  with Nahay –Khaye on October 31, 2019. Singh said that the jail administration has made arrangements  to facilitate to puja by providing essential articles including new cloths, fruits, sweets, coconut, and other materials to the inmates for the occasion.

The prisoners  have made a temporary water pool inside the  jail premises to offer Arghya to Sun God. Pramila  Devi, a jail  inmate  and devotee, said,” We are getting support from  jail  authorities like family members.
