8 persons feared drowned as boat capsizes in river Kosi in Saharsa, 2 bodies fished out

Saharsa : Eight persons were feared drowned after a small boat carrying around over a dozen persons capsized in river Kosi near Rampurghat in Kedli Panchayat under Nauhatta Block in Saharsa District in North Bihar at 11 am  December 18, 2019. Bodies of two women have been fished out so far while efforts were on to locate others. The two bodies were sent to Sadar Hospital, Saharsa, for post-mortem.

The boat had left village Rampur Chatban, located inside Kosi Embankment, for village Rampur but capsized near Rampurghat in river Kosi. The Circle Officer (CO) , Nauhatta, was out of station triggering anger among the locals as other officials alsodid  not reach the place of occurrence  immediately. Later on, local officials reached the spot and pacified the crowd.
