Motihari : The SSB and police, in ajoint raid, seized 8.2 kg Charas worth over Rs 8.6 lakh in international market from Chiljhati Chowk on Adapur – Raxaul canal road in East Chaparan district on October 14, 2017. Police also arrested the bike borne smuggler.
The smuggler was coming from Nepal side on his bike sans registration number and had kept the Charas in a bag. Police stopped the bike and during checking found Charas in the bag. The SSB handed over the smuggler, his seized bike and mobile phone to Nakardei police station. SHO, Nakardei police station, Rakesh Ranjan, said that the arrested smuggler is a resident of Bhawanipur Bazaar village. He was sent to jail after interrogation.
