New Delhi : Altogether 77,760 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 62,27,295 in the country at 8 am on October 13, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (8,38,729) by a massive margin of 53,88,566. The country, however, also reported 55,342 new COVID-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally to 71,75,880. The number of active cases was only 11.69% of the total cases (71,75,880) on October 13, 2020.

Of the 71,75,880 COVID-19 cases reported till date in the country, a total of 62,27,295 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 86.78%. The country has tested 8,89,45,107 samples so far including 10,73,014 samples on October 12, 2020.

The COVID-19 toll climbed to 1,09,856 on October 13, 2020, with 706 new deaths being reported from different places across the country including 165 from Maharashtra, 70 from Karnataka, 62 from Tamilnadu, 60 from West Bengal, 44 from Uttar Pradesh, 40 from Delhi, 33 from Chhattisgarh, 32 from Andhra Pradesh, 27 from Punjab, 22 from Kerala, 21 from Madhya Pradesh, 15 from Rajasthan, 13 from Haryana, 10 from Assam, and 8 from Gujarat. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.53% in the country on October 13, 2020.

The COVID-19 death toll break-up in India on October 13, 2020, is : Maharashtra (40,514), Tamilnadu (10,314), Karnataka (10,036), Delhi (5,809), Andhra Pradesh (6,256), Uttar Pradesh (6,438), West Bengal (5,682), Gujarat (3,574), Madhya Pradesh (2,645), Rajasthan (1,665),  Punjab (3,860), Telengana (1,233), J&K (1,333), Haryana (1,592), Bihar (955), Odisha (1,040), Jharkhand (798), Assam (826), Uttarakhand (762), Kerala (1,025),  Chhattisgarh (1,286), Puducherry (565), Goa (511), Tripura (317), Chandigarh (192),  Andaman & Nicobar (55), Himachal Pradesh (251), Ladakh (64), Manipur (93), Nagaland (18), Meghalaya (64), Arunachal Pradesh (24), Sikkim (57), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
