New Delhi : A total of 75,628 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 54,27,706 at 8 am on October 3, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (9,44,996) by a huge margin of 44,82,710. However, 79,476 new COVID patients were also reported in the country during the same period taking the tally to 64,73,544 cases in the country. The COVID toll has, meanwhile, crossed one lakh mark in India.
Of the 64,73,544 COVID cases reported in the country till date, altogether 54,27, 706 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 83.84%. The country has tested 7,78,50,403 samples till date including 11,32,675 samples on October 2, 2020.
The COVID toll jumped to 1,00,842 in India on October 3, 2020, with 1,069 new deaths being reported from different places across the country including 424 from Maharashtra, 125 fro Karnataka, 67 from Tamilnadu, 53 from UP, 53 from West Bengal, 50 from Punjab, 37 from Delhi, 36 from MP, 31 from Andhra Pradesh, 23 from Haryana, 20 from Kerala, 16 from Chhattisgarh, 16 from Rajasthan, 15 from Gujarat, and 14 from J&K. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.56% in India on October 3, 2020.
The COVID-19 death toll break-up in India on October 3, 2020, is : Maharashtra (37,480), Tamilnadu (9,653), Karnataka (9,119), Delhi (5,438), Andhra Pradesh (5,900), Uttar Pradesh (5,917), West Bengal (5,070), Gujarat (3,475), Madhya Pradesh (2,372), Rajasthan (1,516), Punjab (3,501), Telengana (1,153), J&K (1,212), Haryana (1,425), Bihar (910), Odisha (875), Jharkhand (729), Assam (721), Uttarakhand (636), Kerala (791), Chhattisgarh (1,002), Puducherry (532), Goa (442), Tripura (289), Chandigarh (169), Andaman & Nicobar (53), Himachal Pradesh (202), Ladakh (61), Manipur (69), Nagaland (17), Meghalaya (52), Arunachal Pradesh (18), Sikkim (41), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
