Replying to SRH’s 164/5 in 20 overs, the CSK could score only 157/5 in 20 overs with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja scoring 50 in 35 balls hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes while captain M S Dhoni (wk) remained unbeaten on 47 in 36 balls with 4 fours and 1 six. CSK opener Faf du Plessis was run out for 22. SRH had won the toss and opted to bat.
Earlier batting first, SRH made a disastrous start losing the wicket of opener Jonny Bairstow 9wk) with just 1 run on board. Bairstow fell to pacer Deepak Chahar for zero. CSK have now lost three of their first four matches in this IPL. For, SRH, it was their 2nd win four matches.
