New Delhi : The massive increase in the number of COVID-19 patients being declared cured/discharged continues in India reaching 32,50,429 at 8am on September 7, 2020, an increase of 69,564 during last 24 hours, exceeding the number of active cases in the country by a huge 23,67,887.
On the negative side, the COVID-19 death toll increased to 71,642 on September 7, 2020, with 1,016 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country during last 24 hours including 328 from Maharashtra, 95 from Karnataka, 88 from Tamilnadu, 70 from Andhra Pradesh. 77 from Uttar Pradesh, 54 from Punjab, 52 from West Bengal, 29 from Delhi, and 14 from Gujarat. The Case Fatality Rate had dropped to 1.70% in the country on September 7, 2020, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
Of the 42,04,613 COVID cases reported till date in the country including 90,802 new cases during last 24 hours, a total of 32,50,427 patients have been declared cured/discharged with the recovery rate being 77.31%. The number of active cases in the country was 8,82,542 on September 7, 2020, which is 20.99% of the total COVID cases reported till date.
India has tested 4,95,51,503 COVID-19 samples till date including 7,20,362 on September 6, 2020, a drop of 3,72,292, a huge number.
The COVID-19 toll break-up in India on September 7, 2020, is : Maharashtra (26,604), Tamilnadu (7,836), Karnataka (6,393), Delhi (4,567), Andhra Pradesh (4,417), Uttar Pradesh (3,920), West Bengal (3,562), Gujarat (3,105), Madhya Pradesh (1,572), Rajasthan (1,137), Punjab (1,862), Telengana (895), J&K (784), Haryana (806), Bihar (750), Odisha (546), Jharkhand (469), Assam (360), Uttarakhand (341), Kerala (347), Chhattisgarh (380), Puducherry (314), Goa (236), Tripura (149), Chandigarh (71), Andaman & Nicobar (50), Himachal Pradesh (55), Ladakh (35), Manipur (38), Nagaland (10), Meghalaya (16), Arunachal Pradesh (8), Sikkim (5), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
As far Bihar figure goes, according to State Health Department, the COVID death toll was 754 in the state on September 6, 2020.
