6 sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment in 2011 Shahpur murder case

Ara : Additional District and Sessions Judge III, Ara, Ramesh Chandra Dwiwedi sentenced to rigorous life  imprisonment six persons including an inmate of Ara jail Shivjeet Mishra on January 25 in connection with murder of Anil Kumar alias Munna Mishra in February 2011 in Bhojpur district. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 25,000 on them.

The court had convicted in the murder of Munna Mishra on January 23, 2017, and had fixed January 25 to pronounce the quantum of punishment on January 25, 2017. The other five accused sentenced to life imprisonment   are : Om Prakash Mishra, Umakant Mishra, Shambhu Yadav, Kundan Yadav  and Krishnakant Mishra. The court also awarded three years rigorous imprisonment to Shivjeet Mishra and slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on him separately under Arms Act. Both the punishment will run simultaneously.

Anil Kumar alias Munna Mishra of Sonbarsha village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district was shot dead  on February 15, 2011 and a named FIR was lodged with Shahpur police station against eight persons including Shivjeet Mishra on the statement of Rajendra Ojha, maternal uncle of the deceased. Panchayat election was said to be the cause behind the incident.

Shivjeet Mishra’s three sons, Haresh Mishra, Dhan Jee Mishra and Kishun  Mishra are also in Ara jail in connection with murder of the BJP state vice president, Visheshwar Ojha in 2016. The trio were arrested from Bengal on December 25, 2016, but his fourth son Brajesh Ojha, who carries a rewarde of Rs 50,000 on his head, is still absconding.  All the four sons were wanted in the murder of Visheshwar Ojha and Mako Ojha. All the three jailed sons were present in the court on January 25 whey the court sentenced Shivjeet Mishra to rigorous life imprisonment along with five other accused.
