New Delhi :  Altogether 56,480 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 73,15,989 at 8 am on October 29, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases ( 6,03,687) by a huge margin of 67,12,302. The country, on the other hand, also recorded 49,881 new COVID-19 patients during last 24 hours taking the tally to 80,40,203. The number of active cases was 7.51% of the total cases (80,40,203) recorded till date in the country.

Of the 80,40,203 COVID-19 cases recorded so far in the country, altogether 73,15,989 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 90.99%. India has tested 10,65,63,440 samples so far including 10,75,760 samples on October 28, 2020, according to Union Health Ministry figure.

The COVID-19 toll climbed to 1,20,527 till date in the country with 517 new deaths being reported from across the country during last 24 hours including 91 from Maharashtra, 60 from West Bengal, 55 from Karnataka, 55 from Chhattisgarh, 40 from Delhi, 35 from Tamilnadu, 27 from Kerala, 20 from Punjab, 18 from Uttar Pradesh, 18 from Andhra Pradesh, 15 from Madhya Pradesh, 12 from Odisha, 10 from Rajasthan,  8 from Haryana, 6 from Manipur, 6 from Gujarat, 4 from Bihar, and 4 from Jharkhand. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.50% in the country on October 29, 2020.

COVID-19 death toll in India on October 29, 2020, is : Maharashtra (43,554), Tamilnadu (11,018), Karnataka (11,046), Delhi (6,396), Andhra Pradesh (6,643), Uttar Pradesh (6,958), West Bengal (6,664), Gujarat (3,701), Madhya Pradesh (2,913), Rajasthan (1,877),  Punjab (4,158), Telengana (1,324), J&K (1,455), Haryana (1,758), Bihar (1,069), Odisha (1,284), Jharkhand (880), Assam (917), Uttarakhand (1,009), Kerala (1,403),  Chhattisgarh (1,936), Puducherry (590), Goa (592), Tripura (345), Chandigarh (224),  Andaman & Nicobar (58), Himachal Pradesh (300), Ladakh (74), Manipur (156), Nagaland (34), Meghalaya (85), Arunachal Pradesh (36), Sikkim (67), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
