Sasaram : Lack of infrastructure is affecting teaching at 98 year old Rajeshwari Sanskrit Primary cum High School at Suryapura in Rohtas district in South Bihar. This school was established in 1919 and was recognized in 1972.

Earlier, it was a High School but later Primary unit was added to it. It runs in a dilapidated building, which needs immediate renovation. The school has 307 students but only five teachers to teach them in two classrooms with only 25 benches for the students. Students from class I to Class V read in a room while students from Class VI to Class X sit in second room. This school also has a Headmaster, an assistant and a peon. The school lacks drinking water facility though there are two lavatories for boys and girls separately.

Ghanshyam Tiwari, Headmaster incharge, said that he had requested the school committee for the construction of rooms and was trying to provide basic amenities at the school. Abhay Kumar, Sarpanch, Suryapura panchayat, blamed the government for all these problems and said that students as well as teachers are facing a lot of difficulties due to indifferent attitude of the government.
