Ara : Additional District and Sessions Judge III, Ara Civil Court, Ramesh Chandra Dwiwedi sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment all the five convicts and also slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 on each of them on February 7 in Sanjay Prasad alias Munna Sai murder case.
The court had convicted all the five accused in the murder of Munna Sai on January 31, 2017, and had fixed February 4, 2017 for pronouncing quantum of punishment but the date was deferred due to illness of the ADJ and February 7, 2017, was fixed for pronouncement of punishment.Around 3.30 pm on February 7, the ADJ announced quantum of punishment in a jammed packed court.
Sanjay Prasad alias Munna Sai was shot dead in July 2016 at the gate of his residence at New Babu Bazaar under Town police station ,Ara, when he was going to his shop near his residence about 100 metre away from the Town police station. A named FIR was lodged with Town police station against Ravindra Kumar alias Nepali, his son Sonu Kumar, brother Sunny Kumar, and Chandan Kumar, brother -in -law of Nepali, on the statement of Ajay Prasad, brother of the deceased. Police also filed a case against Bittu Kumar for supplying firearms to the miscreants. Police had arrested all the five miscreants within 24 four hours of the incident and forwarded them to jail.
