5 children die due to Encephalitis at SKMCH, Muzaffarpur

Muzaffarpur : Five children died due to suspected Encephalitis at Sri Krishna Medical College & Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur, on June 7, 2019, late night, while undergoing treatment.

Eight children with symptoms of convulsion and high fever were admitted to SKMCH at 5 pm on June 7 of which five died the same night during treatment, according to Head of Paediatrics Department, SKMCH, DR Gopal Sahni.

Sources said that 15 children have died due to Encephalitis at the hospital during last 72 hours while 18 children are undergoing treatment.
