Sasaram : Two women pilgrims were killed and driver injured when a speeding truck from Punjab dashed against the wall of the house of a Petrol Pump owner at Kudara under the same police station in Rohtas district on June 7, 2019, late evening.

Police brought the bodies over to the Sasaram Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured driver to the Primary Health Centre. The deceased were identified as Sonam Devi and Daljeet Kaur of Punjab while the driver of the truck was identified as Kashmira Singh of Basantnagar of Ropar district in Punjab. An FIR was lodged by Kudara police station in this connection.

SHO, Kudara police station, said that Kashmira Singh was coming to Patna from Punjab with the truck laden with agriculture tools and implement. When Sonam Devi and Diljeet Kaur, his neighbours came to know that he was going to Patna, they wished to accompany him up to Patna to have darshan of Harmandir Sahib at Patna City. Kashmira Singh allowed them to get sit on the truck. But, when the truck reached near Sakari Petrol Pump, the driver lost control over the steering and dashed the truck against the wall of the building of the petrol pump owner, Vinay Kumar, in which Sonam Devi and Diljeet Kaur were killed on the spot and the driver was injured.
