4,550 bottles of IMFL seized in Bhojpur, 8 arrested

Ara : Police, on a tip off, conducted raids and seized 4,550 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) kept in 95 cartoons on the border of Bhojpur and Rohtas districts on May 25, 2017,  evening. Police also seized a Pick-Up van, three motorcycles and Rs 1.18lakh cash and arrested eight liquor smugglers.

Bhojpur SP Kshatranil Singh said that during a night patrolling on the border of Bhojpur and Rohtas district, police intercepted a Pick-up van and when I was searched, 4,550 bottles of IMFL packed in 95 cartoons kept under piles of potato loaded on the Pick-Up van.

Police also arrested eight liquor smugglers who were following the Pick-Up van on three motorcycles: Prafful Singh of village Nachaini under Pawana Police station, Krishna Rai Rana Pratapnagar, Chas, Bokaro, Pankaj Upadhayaya, Lav Kumar and Rakesh Kumar of Bachari under Piro PS in Bhojpur district, Sanjay Singh of Marauna in Bikramganj in Rohtas district, driver of the Pick-Up van Pappu Kumar, and Yadu Bhagat of Kuddu, Lohardagga, in Jharkhand. The SP  said that the liquor was being smuggled from Jharkhand to Bhojpur district via Sasaram in Rohtas.
