Saharsa : Excise department sleuths on May 16, 2017, seized two Sumo Gold vehicles near village Laxminia under Saurbazaar police station in Saharsa district and seized 450 bottles of IMFL of 750 ml each worth about Rs 6 lakh they were crrying.
Excise department sleuths had received information that a big consignment of foreign liquor was on way to Saharsa from outside the state hence they were on prowl. When they reached near Laxminia, the liquor smuggler and drivers of the two Sumo Gold started escaping from there. Excise officials including Inspector Birendra Kumar and SI Prabhunath Singh seized the two vehicles. They, however, failed to arrest the liquor smuggler and two drivers.
