New Delhi : For the second consecutive day, the number of new Covid-19 cases recorded during last 24 hours in India outpaced the number of Covid patient declared cured/dischared during the same period. A total of 41,024 Covid patients were declared cured in the country during last 24 hours taking the tally to 85,62,641 at 8 am on November 23, 2020, exceeding the number of active Covid cases ( 4,43,486) by a stupendous margin of 81,18,155. India, however, recorded 44,059 new Covid-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally to 91,39,865 on November 23, 2020.

Of the 91,39,865 Covid-19 cases recorded till date in the country, altogether 85,62,641 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 93.68%. The number of active cases was 4.85% of the total cases recorded so far in the country, a drop of 2,524 cases during last 24 hours. India has tested 13,25,82,730 samples so far including 8,49,596 on November 22, 2020.

The Covid-19 toll jumped to 1,33,738 in India on November 23, 2020, with 511 new deaths being recorded in the country during last 24 hours including 121 from Delhi, 50 from Maharashtra, 49 from West Bengal, 35 from Uttar Pradesh, 27 from Kerala, 25 from Haryana, 19 from Tamilnadu, 19 from Himachal Pradesh, 19 from Chhattisgarh, 19 from Punjab, 17 from Rajasthan, 15 from Odisha, 13 from Karnataka, 13 from Madhya Pradesh, 13 from Gujarat, 11 from Andhra Pradesh, 6 from Jharkhand, 5 from Bihar, and 5 from J&K. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.46% in the country on November 23, 2020.  India had recorded 501 new deaths on November 22, 2020.
