3rd Bokaro International Film Festival from Jan 19

Bokaro ( Jharkhand) :  The third edition of Bokaro International Film Festival -‘Drishyam’ will begin from Januaary 19, 2018, at Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro in Jharkhand. The highlights of this two-day festival will be classic cinemas and celebrities associated with film and art.

Chief Guest of the inauguration ceremony will be the eminent painter Akhilesh while noted Painter and filmmaker Shridhar Iyer along with well-known Film and Art critic Vinod Bhardwaj will be the Guest of  Honour. Director & Principal of DPS Bokaro Hemlata S Mohan and Director of Film Festival Abhishek Kashyap will also be present on the occasion.

On the inaugural day, film ‘Modern Times’ of the famous actor & filmmaker Charlie Chaplin will be screened. Film critic Vinod Bharadwaj will discuss about the film with the students. “Keeping in mind, the deep link of cinema with other arts, for the first time the festival will also witness visual arts. Under the ‘Art Dialogue’ programme, Akhilesh will deliver a lecture on ‘Art Education’ to the art teachers of DPS Bokaro and other schools of  Bokaro. New techniques of art education will also be discussed,” said the Director of the festival Kashyap.

Kashyap also said that in today’s visual arts, video installation has become a powerful medium for artists for their artistic expression hence  the festival will also witness discussion on ‘Cinema in Art’ by Shridhar Iyer. Screening of video installation ‘Blue Bell Gray’ will also take place on this occasion.

On day two, world-renowned film ‘Turtles Can Fly’, known for its amazing artistic expression against war, will be screened.Young and famous screenwriter Shivendra,well known for his TV serials like ‘Detective Wagle’, ‘Shinghasan Battisi’, ‘Sia Ke Ram’ will talk to students on ‘Writing for audio-visual medium’. Rahul Kumar Sinha, DC, Deoghar, has consented to grace the valedictory ceremony.
