New Delhi : A total of 39,726 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours continuing the alarming spike in daily new cases in the country taking the tally to 1,15,14,331 at 8 am on March 19, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 20,654 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,10,83,679 in the country on March 19, 2021.

The active cases (2,71,282) accounted for 2.36% of the total Covid-19 cases ( 1,15,14,331) recorded so far in the country on March 19, 2021, an increase of 18,918 cases in last 24 hours. India has tested 23,13,70,546 samples so far including 10,57,383 samples on March 18, 2021. Meanwhile, 3,93,39,817 persons have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India so far including 22,02,861 beneficiaries on March 18, 2021. Of the 1,15,14,331 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in India, altogether 1,10,83,679 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 96.26% on March 19, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,59,370 in India on March 19, 2021, with 154 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 58 in Maharashtra, 32 in Punjab, 15 in Kerala, 9 in Tamilnadu, 8 in Karnataka, 6 in Haryana, 5 in Chhattisgarh, 3 in Gujarat, 3 in Rajasthan, 2 in Uttar Pradesh, 2 in West Bengal, 1 in Bihar, and 1 in Delhi. India had recorded 172 new deaths on March 18, 2021. The case fatality rate dropped to 1.38% in India on March 19, 2021, according to Union Health Miniustry figure.
