Patna : Second seed Andrey Rublev, 23, Russia, 3rd seed Denis Shapovalov, 21, Canada, World No 42 Aslan Karatsev, 27, Russia, and qualifier Lloyd Harris, 24, South Africa, reached the semi-finals of ATP Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, an hard court event, at Dubai, UAE, on March 18, 2021.

World No 8 Andrey Rublev, Russia, beat World No 44 Marton Fucsovics, 29, Hungary, in straight sets 7-6, 6-2 in 1hr 29 minutes in quarter-finals on March 18, 2021, winning 3 break points  and 3 games in a row during the match. The Russian, in all, won 74 points in the match to 56 by the Hungarian. Rublev will face Australian Open 2021 semi-finalist Aslan Karatsev in semi-finals at 8.30 pm on March 19, 2021.

Aslan Karatsev beat 16th seed & World No 32 Jannik Sinner, 19, Italy, in a three-set battle 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 in 2hrs 29 minutes in quarter-finals on March 18, 2021, rallying back from one set down. Karatsev won 5 break points during the match to 2 by Sinner.  The Russian also won 5 games in a row in the match to 3 by the Italian. Karatsev, in all, won 109 points during the match to 92 by Sinner. The Italian though fired 10 Aces in the match to 6 by the Russian. Karatsev had lost to World No 1 Novak Djokovic, Serbia, in Australian Open SFs in February 2021.

World No 12 Denis Shapovalov, Canada, beat World No 53 Jeremy Chardy, 34, France, 7-5, 6-4 in 84 minutes in QFs hammering 10 Aces and winning 2 break points in the match. The Canadian also won 3 games in a row in the match. Shapovalov, in all, won 65 points during the match to 48 by Chardy. He will face qualifier Lloyd Harris, South Africa, in first SFs at 6.30 pm on March 19, 2021.

Lloyd Harris upset World No 41 Kei Nishikori, 32, Japan, in a three-set contest 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 in QFs. Harris hammered 14 Aces in the match to just 1 by Nishikori.  The South African also won 4 break points during the match to 2 by the Japanese. Harris won 5 games in a row in the match to 4 by Nishikori. Harris, in all, won 78 points during the match to 70 by Nishikori.
