30 kg Opium powder seized in Muzaffarpur, one held

Muzaffarpur : Police seized 30 kg of Doda powder, a type of Opium, worth Rs 1 crore, from the house of one Shankar Gupta during a raid conducted at his house at village Sinduari under Motipur police station in Muzaffarpur district on April 2, 2017, evening. Shankar Gupta was arrested and being interrogated. The raid was conducted on a tip off.

SSP, Muzaffarpur, Vivek Kumar, said that it was for the first time that Doda powder had been seized in the district. The SSP said that Doda powder was brought over from Gorakhpur, UP, and police were searching for the kingpin of the racket. DSP, West, has been directed to investigate into the matter.
