30 kg Hasish seized at Raxaul

Raxaul ( East Champaran): Customs sleuths seized 30 kg Hasish worth about Rs 3 crore in a raid conducted near a railway bridge at Ahirwacltola close to Raxaul town in East Champaran district on Saturday. But, the smugglers who had  brought over the banned Hasish from Nepal managed to escape.

Deputy Commissioner, Customs, R K Singh, while confirming the seizure said the raid was conducted on a tip off. It was the biggest seizure of Hasish sources.in last five years, he said.  Raxaul Customs had also seized 9 kg Charas in two raids conducted by it during last two months.

The Customs team, which seized  Hasish on Saturday, comprised  R K Thakur, R K Srivastava, R N Pathak, Aftab Alam, all customs superintendents, Sanjay Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Bharat Kumar, Abhishekh Kamal, S B Singh, Faruq Rahman, all Inspectors.
