3 minor girls drown to death in receding flood water at Sitamarhi village

Sitamarhi :Three minor girls of village Rewasi under Riga police station in Sitamarhi district drowned to death on August 3, 2019, while fishing in receding flood water. The villagers fished out the three bodies. Bagmati (old course) had inundated village Rewasi.

The deceased were identified as Ruchi Kumari, 10, and Nokhi Kumari, 11, daughters of Jitendra Thakur, and Sulochana Kumari, 8, daughter of Ranjeet Thakur. The news flashed like wildfire in the locality and several people gathered on the spot. l It may be mentioned here that more than forty persons had died in flash flood in the district in July 2019Sixteen blocks of the district are still affected by flood.
