Some girls were playing Volleyball at Ramana Maidan under Nawada police station, Aa, on December 26. In the meantime, a youth who was learning car driving lost control over the steering and dashed the girls in which three teenage girls: Kaushiki of Maulabagh under Nawada police station, Shreya and an unidentified girl of M P Bagh under Town police station, Ara, were injured. The Bhojpur district administration had been asked by the court to remove encroachment from the historical Ramana Maidan about 10 years ago but the district administration remained unmoved. The district administration instead constructed roads, a stage, bicycle and motorcycle stands at Ramana Maidan. Even cars and other vehicles are being parked there illegally.

Ramana Maidan is the only open place in the heart of Ara where students play and elderly persons go for stroll daily. But of late people run bicycles, motorcycles and even four wheelers there. Some of them learn driving at Ramana Maidan when boys and girls play there. Almost daily, one or two people get injured due to illegal driving and parking at  Ramana Maidan.
