Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : Three students of DPS Bokaro have cleared the second stage of Aryabhatta Ganit Challenge organised by CBSE. The online exam was conducted in November, 2019. Advay Kumar and Ritul Kumar Singh of Grade 9 and Rakshit Raj of Grade 8 from DPS Bokaro secured their position among the top 100 students from the eastern region.
Aryabhatta Ganit Challenge checks the students’ ability to apply mathematics in daily life. In the present scenario, it is imperative that students apply mathematical concepts, facts, procedures, and reasoning to solve mathematically formulated problems to reach mathematical conclusions. Students should also be able to reflect on mathematical solutions, results or conclusions and interpret them in the context of the real-life problem.
Preparing for the challenge, the students recognise and identified opportunities to use mathematics and then provide mathematical structure to a problem presented in contextualised form.
Principal, DPS Bokaro, A S Gangwar, congratulated the students on their success.
