Ara : Three persons : Basant Mishra, Tunni Mishra, and Umakant Mishra who were earlier granted bail in connection with murder of the former state BJP Vice-President Bisheshwar Ojha, surrendered before an Ara court on April 27, 2019, following  the directive of the Apex Court. They were sent to Ara jail.

Bisheshwar Ojha was shot dead at Sonbarsha Bazaar under Karnamepur police outpost on February 12, 2016, evening when he was going to attend a marriage ceremony. Eight persons were made named accused in the FIR in this connection and all the named accused were arrested. But three of them : Basant Mishra, Tunni Mishra and Umakant Mishra, were granted bail by an  Ara Court.

Mukteshwar Ojha alias Bhuar Ojha, younger brother of the deceased, had moved the Apex Court for the cancellation of their bail and also requested DGP  Gupteshwar Pandey to take action in this regard. During hearing, Bihar government admitted lapse mistake on its part. The Apex court, after hearing, had directed Basant Mishra, Tunni Mishra, and Umakant Mishra to surrender before the court.
