Patna : The Covid-19 cases recorded in Bihar rose to 2,55,926 on January 8, 2021, afternoon, as 452 more persons including 203 from Patna, 27 from Begusarai, 26 from Munger, and 25 from Purnia, tested positive to the pandemic on January 7, 2021.

According to State Health Department figure, 19 persons each from Bhagalpur and Darbhanga, 17 from Muzaffarpur, 11 from Vaishali, 9 each from Arwal and Khagaria, 7 each from Sheohar, Buxar, and Gaya, 6 each from Araria, Jehanabad, Nalanda, and Kaimur, and 5 each from Sitamarhi and Gopalganj, also tested positive to Covid-19 on January 7, 2021.

Of the 2,55,926 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar, altogether 2,50,447 patients have been declared cured including 504 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) being 97.86%. The number of active cases was 4,050 in Bihar on January 8, 2021. The state has tested 1,90,82,418 samples so far including 91,407 samples on January 7, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll in Bihar increased to 1,428 on January 8, 2021, with 4 new deaths being recorded in the state in last 24 hours including 1 each from Patna, Bhagalpur, Madhubani, and Nawada. The toll increased to 393 in Patna on January 8, 2021.

Meanwhile, the 2nd round of Dry Run for Covid -19 vaccination was conducted in all 38 districts of Bihar on January 8, 2021. The Dry Run was conducted at 114 session sites in the state including 4 at Patna.
