Patna : The Covid-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar climbed to 2,55,097 on January 6, 2021, afternoon, as 408  more persons including 139 in Patna, 55 in Aurangabad, and 23 in Begusarai, tested positive to the pandemic on January 5, 2021.

According to State Health Department figure, 19 person from Saran,13 each from Muzaffarpur and Nalanda, 12 from Bhojpur, 11 each from Madhubani and Rohtas, 9 each from Saharsa and Siwan, 7 each from Bhagalpur, Darbhanga,  and Samastipur, 6 each from Araria, Arwal, Gaya, Gopalganj, and Vaishali, also tested positive to Covid-19 on January 5, 2021.

Of the 2,55,097 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar, a total of 2,49,520 patients have been declared cured including 424 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 97.81%. The number of active  cases in Bihar was 4,156 on January 6, 2021. Bihar has tested 1,88,92,926 samples so far including 95,243 samples on January 5, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll increased to 1,420 on January 6, 2021, with 5 new deaths  being recorded in Bihar in last 24 hours including 2 in Patna, 2 in Jehanabad, and 1 in Samastipur. The toll rose to 389 in Patna on January 6, 2021.
