Buxar: Buxar district administration has declared 24 ghats on the bank of river Ganga as most dangerous for performing Chhath Puja and made an elaborate security arrangement for the purpose.

Buxar district administration declared 13 ghats at Buxar, 7 at  Chausa and 4 at Ithardhi as dangerous. These ghats are Chhotaki Sarimpur Ghat, Shivala Ghat, Rani Ghat, Budhwa Shankar Ghat, Fua Ghat, Kohara Ghat, Jahaj Ghat, Sumeshwarsthan Ghat, Ahirauli Ganga Ghat, Arjunpur Ganga Ghat, Churamanpur Pokhara Ghat, Kritpura Ghat, Kamhariya Ghat, Mishrawalia Ghat in Buxar and Mahadev Ghat, Bazaar Ghat, Bare Mor Ghat, Rani Ghat, Chaubaha Baba Ghat, Dharmawati Nadi Ghat, Chunni Pokhara Ghat at Chausa and Itardhi Bazaar Thoda Nadi Ghat, Thodra Nadi Pakadi Pul Ghat, Kakudha Talab Ghat, Thos Nadi Ghaty at Itardhi.

The Buxar DM visited different ghats on the banks of river Ganga and ordered for their proper barricading. He directed to measure the depth of the river at the ghats and act accordingly. He also ordered for cleaning of all the ghats and roads leading to the ghats in view of the Chhath festival so that the devotees did not face any difficulty in reaching the ghats. He also directed to install watch towers at dangerous ghats and depute police force there and also fix banners there mentioning that the ghats were dangerous. He prohibited use of crackers at the ghats.
