24 Aanganwadi Sevika dismissed from service in Bhojpur

Ara : About 24 Aanganwadi Sevika and two Sahayika have been dismissed from service after their certificates were found fake during investigation. An FIR has also been lodged with different police stations in Bhojpur district against them under section 420 IPC by the Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) concerned on the direction of the District Programme Officer, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS).

Rashmi Chaudhary, DPO, ICDS, said that hundreds of Aanganwadi Sevika and Sahayika were appointed in 2018-2019 but complaints were received against appointments of 265 of them of which 145 cases are still pending in different courts. She stated that a number of persons succeeded in getting jobs of Sevikas and Sahayikas on fake certificates or by concealing their ages. On getting complaints, she investigated and verified the certificates and found certificates of 24 Sevika and two sahayika fake and so they were terminated from services and a named FIR has been lodged with the police under different police station against them. She said inquiry is still going on.
