New Delhi : New Covid-19 cases again outpaced the recoveries in last 24 hours in India. A total of 23,285 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,13,08,846 cases in the country at 8 am on March 12, 2021. On the other hand, only 15,157 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,09,53,303 in the country on March 12, 2021.

The active cases (1,97,237) accounted for 1.74% of the total cCovid-19 ases (1,13,08,846) on March 12, 2021, a massive increase of 8,011 cases in last 24 hours. India has tested 22,49, 98,638 samples so far including 4,80,740 samples on March 11, 2021. Meanwhile, a total of 2,61,64,920 persons have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India so far including 4,80,740 beneficiaries on March 11, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients was 96.86% in India on March 12, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,58,306 in India on March 12, 2021, with 117 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 57 in Maharashtra, 18 in Punjab, 13 in Kerala, 5 in Tamilnadu,  4 in Madhya Pradesh, 3 in Chhattisgarh, 3 in Delhi, 3 in West Bengal, 2 in Karnataka, 2 in Andhra Pradesh, 1 in Haryana, and 1 in Uttar Pradesh. India had recorded 126 new deaths on March 11, 2021.
