23 Year Old Woman set afire in Muzaffarpur Dist. after failed rape bid, accused held

Muzaffarpur : A 23 year old woman was set afire allegedly by a neighbour after she resisted his rape bid. The victim, who suffered 50 per cent burns in the incident, is undergoing treatment at a Muzaffarpur Hospita.

Police have arrested the accused after the victim’s mother lodged a complaint with police, according to SHO, Ahiyapur police station, Muzaffarpur, Vikas Rai. According to the complaint, the woman was alone at home on December 7, 2019, when the accused sneaked into her house and tried to outrage her modesty. Her mother,  who works at a primary health centre, rushed home and took her to a hospital after a local informed her about the incident, according to police.

At another village under Ahiyapur police station, body of an eight-year-old girl was found on December 6, 2019, stuffed in a bag and dumped in an orchard after suspected sexual assault.
