Bagaha : Twentytwo couples from poor families tied nuptial knot at dowryless mass marriage functions organised by two social groups at different places in Bagaha police district on March 5, 2018, evening.

‘Helping Hands’, a social organisation headed by Dhananjay Kumar of Gandhinagar locality under Nagar Parishad, Bagaha, organised, a grand mass wedding programme at Gandhinagar Chowk where 15 couples got married. Dhananjay Kumar, Rajan Gupta, Secretary of ‘Helping Hands’ and Pappu Kumar, a senior member of the organisation, highlighted the  importance of dowry less mass wedding programmes. SHO, Bagaha Town Police Station, Mohammad Ayub inaugurated the function. It was the second mass wedding function was organised by the ‘Helping Hands’.

Another mass marriage ceremony was organised at Bhairoganj Bazzar under Bagaha-1 block the same day by Shree Jaiswal, Dr Krishna Sharma and former Mukhia of Kuluha-Chautarawa, Jitendra Kushwaha where 7 couples tied the nuptial knot.
