Bettiah : A Prohibition & Excise Department team seized 60 cartons of liquor containing 2,036 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) made in Haryana make and arrested two smugglers on December 12, 2018, late evening, from an ambulance van bearing Uttar Pradesh (UP) registration number at Banakatawa Chowk in West Champaran District.

Superintendent, Prohibition & Excise, West Champaran, Rakesh Kumar, on December 13, 2018,  said that a team of the department detained an ambulance van bearing Uttar Pradesh registration number at Banakatawa Chowk under Nautan police station and seized 2,036 bottles of  IMFL from cellar of the van and arrested two smugglers. The Prohibition & Excise Department sleuths also seized the ambulance and  sent the smugglers to Bettiah district Jail on December 13, he said.
