Bagaha : Hundreds of CPI (ML) activists led by Birenda Prasad Gupta passed through thoroughfares of Bagaha town in procession on June 19, 2018, shouting anti-government slogans. Later on, they staged demonstration before Sidhaw (Bagaha-2)  Circle office and submitted a memorandum containing their 25 demands to Circle Officer Shriram Oraon.

Their major demands include no transfer of 281 acre of Gandak Project land to the Valmikinagar Tiger Reserve (VTR) on which hundreds of families have been residing for last several decades, resients of four wards of Nagar Parishad, Bagaha, should not be evicted from the unused land of railway, and VTR officials be restrained from harassing tribals and traditional dwellers residing in and around the VTR.

The CPI(ML) held a public meeting on  the Circle Office premises and strongly opposed the policies of both the state and central governments. CPI (ML) leader Birendrr Gupta said that many Mahadalit families were sitting on dharna before Narakatiaganj Circle office for the last one week seeking  implementation of Public Grievance Redressal Officer’s order.
