Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : Exhibiting exceptional performance, Abhijeet Kumar, a class X student of DPS Bokaro, secured first position in the East Zone at Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM), a national programme conducted popularizing science.
Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is a national programme jointly organized by Vijnana Bharati, NCERT and Vigyan Prasar with the objective to identifying keen knowledge seekers in Science and then nurture them for higher level of science education
Abhijeet was selected on the basis of his performance in the four-stage process at the National Level Camp conducted earlier on May 12 and 13, 2018, at DAE Convention Centre BARC Colony, Anushakti Nagar, Mumbai. It included Written Test, Observational Analysis of Video Clips, Situation Problem Solving and Hands on Activities.
Abhijeet got a trophy, a certificate and a cheque of Rs 5,000. There were around 276 participants from across the country.
Dr. Hemlata S. Mohan, Director and Principal of DPS Bokaro, expressed her happiness and urged for more participation by the students in such activities that promote scientific temperament.
