Buxar : SDO, Buxar, K K Upadhayay, along with a team for prevention of cruelty against animals from New Delhi conducted raids at the Cattle Fair at Chausa in Buxar district on SMay 5, 2018, and lodged a named FIR with Buxar Muffassil police station against 18 owners of the fair. But, almost all the fair owners and traders had fled away from the scene after seeing the SDO and the Delhi team.
The officers said that the Chausa Cattle Fair was illegal as it has no license and it also does not have any facility for the animals. The district administration had not allowed them to hold cattle fair here. They said that they saw a number of ailing calves lying under the scorching sun and now they were being treated at the Buxar veterinary hospital. The team led by the SDO also seized 280 cattle from different parts of Buxar district.
