Bhagalpur : The legal problem of Arijit Shashwat, 36, son of senior BJP leader and Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey, increased on March 31, 2018, with a Bhagalpur court rejecting his anticipatory bail petition in a case filed against him for allegedly triggering violence at Bhagalpur on March 17, 2018.
The court also fixed a date for pronouncing order on the bail petitions of 8 other accused. A Bhagalpur court had issued an arrest warrant on March 24 against Arijit Shashwat and others named in the FIR.
Arijit Shashwat has been named in one of the two FIRs for leading a procession without permission of Bhagalpur administration on March 17. Violence had erupted after people belonging to a community objected to loud music being played during the procession.
