12 Muzaffarpur docs to be suspended for negligence in duty during flood

Muzaffarpur : The Health Department had withheld the salary of four doctors of Sakra Referral Hospital in Muzaffarpur district for remaining absent from duty during the flood. The department has sought an explanation from the four doctors regarding their absence from duty.

Regional Additional Director, health, Muzaffarpur, Dr Vijay Kumar Sinha, said that about a dozen doctors posted in the flood hit district will be suspended soon. Their performance during the flood is being reviewed, Dr Sinha said. Muzaffarpur DM Dharmendra Singh has cancelled the leave of employees on September 2 and September 3, 2017, in view of the on going flood relief work.

Meanwhile, the district administration has to pay about Rs 150 crore to three lakh flood affected families but it has so far received only Rs 29 crore from the state government under this head.
