Muzaffarpur : Four bike borne criminals shot dead a Peshkar of Civil Court, Samastipur, Javed Akhtar, near a Madrassa at Banaras Bank Chowk under Town Police Station (PS), Muzaffarpur, at 7 am on August 21, 2017. The criminals escaped unchallenged after killing Akhtar. Banaras Bank Chowk is 3 km away from Muzaffarpur Railway Junction.
Police recovered nine empty cartridges from the spot. The body was sent to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur. SSP, Muzaffarpur, Vivek Kumar, said that the City SP was himself investigating into the incident and the assailants would be arrested soon.
Akhtar’s house is located near Madrassa, Banaras Bank Chowk, Muzaffarpur. He had come to Muzaffarpur on August 20 evening and was to leave for Samastipur on August 21 at 8 am. Police are yet to ascertain the reason behind Akhtar’s murder.
