FIR against 16 for attacking cops on duty in Saharsa

Saharsa : Saharsa police on January 4 claimed to have recovered the 25 live cartridges looted from a Homeguards jawan by some criminals at village Kahra under Sadar police station on January 2 night during a clash with police. Criminals attacked policemen including two SIs when they reached the house of one Subhak Ram to arrest him in a land dispute. Six cops including two SIs were injured in the attack.

Criminals had also looted a rifle from the Homeguards jawan but  it was recovered the same night. On the statement of injured SI Surendra Yadav an FIR was lodged on January 3 against 16 persons including a woman for attacking cops on duty. Incidentally, the FIR does not say the looted cartridges were recovered. But, SDPO Subodh Kumar Biswas confirmed recovery of cartridges.
