Motihari : A 13 km Run for Peace was organized by East Champaran District Administration on January 15, 2021, at Gandhi Maidan, Motihari Town, the district headquarters. Around 2,000 youth, boys, and girls participated in the Run.
All the registered participants reached the Gandhi Maidan on time and Run started at 6 .30 am in foggy morning with East Champaran DM Shirshat Kapil Ashok and all the officers of Motihari Collectorate also participating at the event. Earlier, Jwala Gatta, an international badminton player, addressing the participants said that she extremely happy to see the large number of participants braving the foggy winter morning.
This event was organised to encourage the youth to work for ending violence and discrimination in the society. Motihari MLA Pramod Kumar said that the Run for Peace was organised by the District Administration to create awareness of about importance of peace, non-violence, and a healthy life style.
DM Shirshat Kapil Ashok said that the event was organised to create awareness in new generation about value of culture, peace in daily life, besides all round development of the society. He urged the boys and girls to spread awareness in common people about ‘Jal ,Jiwan and Hariyali’ scheme.
