20 Aurangabad jail inmates observing Navratri

Aurangabad: Aurangabad divisional jail is reverberating with mantras of Durga Saptsati as 20 jail birds are observing the nine days Navratri. The jail administration has made elaborate arrangements and the officials are providing all puja materials to these jail inmates.

Prisoners not performing puja are helping their associates in carrying out their routine duties to get the blessings of Maa Durga. Even some of the naxals, who are currently lodged in the divisional jail, are helping those observing the puja. Jail superintendent B Prasad said that the jail administration has provided all assistance to the jail inmates as per the rules. He said that by invoking Maa Durga, they are trying to change themselves. Prasad said that fruits besides puja materials have been given to the prisoners. He said that plain food was being prepared for those observing the puja.
