2 kids die, 13 others fall ill after taking tea at Sitamarhi village

Sitamarhi: Two children died while thirteen other family members and relativesfell ill due and admitted to Sadar Hospital, Sitamarhi, due to nausea and vomiting after taking tea at the house of one Bhola Ram at village Ranauli under Bathanaha police station in Sitamarhi district on March 11, 2018, allegedly in a case of poisoning. The relatives had come to attend the marriage of Bhola Ram’s son on March 12, 2018.

In the morning, all the family members and relatives took tea but soon they fell ill. Shivani, 5, and Shivam alias Shiva Kumar, 8, died within two hours of taking tea. Shivani belonged to village Kodwara under Sahiyara police station whereas Shivam was a native of village Vishnupur village under Sonbarsa block. According to Sadar SDPO K V Dhirendra, police have collected certain samples for tests at Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). Investigation is underway, the SDPO added.
