Nawada: Police, on a tip off, recovered a cache of countrymade arms and ammunition besides liquor from the house of a criminal of village Gonama under Town police station, Nawada, on June 6, 2017. But, criminal Vikas Singh alias Kailu managed to escape. Police, however, treat the recovery as a significant face-saver in the backdrop of two major unsolved burglaries committed in last two
days in the town.
Two carbines, three pistols (all desi products), 9 live cartridges, 24 bottles of Royal Stag besides 2 kg cannabis were recovered in the pre-dawn swoop. According to police sources, an ex-jailbird Kailu, a member of notorious criminal Navin Singh’s gang, was suspected to have been involved in the recent two burglaries in the residential premises of two prominent Nawada town businessmen, including a cloth merchant. Nawada SP Vikas Burman had warned the delinquent cops of stern action if the law and order does not improve.
SP Vikas Burman’s warning acted as a catalyst in the recovery of the arms and liquor. A hunt has been launched to nab Kailu.
